Big Thanks and Updates on Projects
Here's the projects currently underway, and a big thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hey folks, I just wanted to reach out and say thank you.
This has been a very cool journey. I started in Journalism sort of on a whim, I was frustrated by music and didn’t know whether or not I wanted to continue pursuing it, and my friend Chris Curtis asked me for some work. I took the work, stumbled on some conspiracies, and suddenly was working in journalism. I’ve loved making stuff online, I think things like our public database on MPs being landlords has been a cool project, I think it’s amazing that this substack has grown from 200 followers in December to 2000, and although news is extremely slow during the summer, I’m having an incredible time.
A big part of this substack is to be as transparent as possible with everyone— so here’s a few things I’m working on.
I’m not able to get into specifics until the fall, but I’ve been talking to many people behind the scenes and prepping for what I think could be a TITANIC investigation (probably without the beautiful and perfect Gabrielle Brassard-Lecours since she is busy working with the Canadian Journalism Collective right now— thank God she’s still contributing on this substack.) I think that what I’m planning could shake up national politics. I’m also investigating what’s going on in certain federal parties (if you’ve been following on social media, you might have a hint,) and I have articles coming out on in Newfoundland Labrador that I think could have a big impact.
Also, I’m working with my friend Emelia Fournier on an investigation into the Sex Work industry, we haven’t found a home for publication yet, no deals have been signed, but we’re talking to people. I think that it will be an important investigation that tells stories about real people who have been caricatured by the media, and so I hope that’ll work out.
Finally, I’m also pressuring the feds to give me the updated information on conflict of interest disclosures for this current Parliament. I’ve had several conversations with them today, and hopefully will have the new info very soon.
The fact is— I couldn’t do these highly ambitious projects without your support. There’s not a lot of journalists who are so fortunate, and I hope I can keep making you all proud. If anyone needs me, you can email me, text me on substack, or text me on Instagram. I’m available if there’s anything pressing! Endless love to all of you, and thank you so much for your constant support.
J’ai bien hâte de voir ton travail :) thanks for the update!
